Elizabeth Brachelli is a graduate of Cabrini College with her Bachelor of Arts in English and Communication and a minor in Spanish. While graduating a year early from Cabrini College, Elizabeth was selected to be the Managing Editor of Cabrini's award-winning student newspaper,  The Loquitur. In this position, she was instrumental in leading the newspaper to several national awards.

The Loquitur of which she was editor, was one of 18 college newspapers in the nation to be selected for the most prestigious award accorded in the nation, the  2007 Associated Collegiate Press Newspaper Pacemaker Award. The Loquitur shared this award with the Harvard Crimson, The Daily Pennsylvanian, and  the University of Missouri Maneater.

The newspaper also placed second in  The Society for Collegiate Journalists (SCJ) national competition for overall excellence in newspapers. For human rights, SCJ awarded Elizabeth and her partner Katherine Brachelli a first place award for a new series that covered the genocide in Darfur, Sudan.

In addition to her work for the college newspaper, Elizabeth acted as a student advocate to raise awareness on the continuous genocide in Darfur, Sudan, which has taken the lives of 400,000 people in the western part of Africa. Cabrini's community will continue to carry out the advocacy that Elizabeth has begun with the help of her remaining team members at Cabrini by starting a STAND (Student Anti-Genocide Coalition) chapter. STAND is the largest student movement in the country and is still growing. Elizabeth plans to continue her advocacy for the common good by raising awareness on other issues of international social justice. 

Elizabeth completed an internship in June 2007 within the public relations group at VoxMedica, one of the largest  independent health-care marketing communication companies in the country, headquartered in Philadelphia. 

Currently, Elizabeth is working at Drexel University.  At Drexel University, Elizabeth works within the College of Engineering managing the public relations. Elizabeth works directly with the Dean for the CoE and the Communications Manager. Drexel University is the third largest private undergraduate school for engineering in the country.  

In addition to working at Drexel's College of Engineering, Elizabeth teaches a University 101 class to engineers. The class introduces first year students to university life, learning styles, networking, study skills, the Drexel community, and Co-op.

In her spare time, Elizabeth actively takes part in Engineers Without Borders (EWB), a non-profit organization that assists disadvantaged communities improve the quality of life through implementation of sustainable engineering projects, while involving and training internationally responsible engineering professionals and students. Elizabeth is also an ambassador for Catholic Relief Services.  She writes news pieces for the organization to raise awareness on world issues such as poverty, genocide and fair trade.

Elizabeth is pursuing her Masters of Science in Public Communication at Drexel University and she is working to advance within the field of Public Relations and journalism.
